Satellite Healthcare Names Chief Information Officer to Lead its IT Function

Satellite Healthcare

SAN JOSE, Calif. – December 20, 2021 – Satellite Healthcare Inc., a non-profit, top-rated provider of kidney dialysis and related patient services, announced today that it has named Bindu Purushothaman as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). She joins Satellite Healthcare after most recently serving as CIO and Vice President of Optum Care’s medical group business in several western states.

Purushothaman assumes her new role during a transformative period in Satellite Healthcare’s evolution and growth.  The country’s leader in the rate of home dialysis use, with more than 20 percent of its patients choosing this modality option to dialyze in the comfort of their home, the company is taking multiple measures to make it increasingly convenient for patients who can benefit from home dialysis to access it – meeting them where they are.  An enterprising and responsive IT infrastructure is central to this effort, and to bringing the highest quality outcomes and services to patients who receive care within Satellite Healthcare’s dialysis centers.

“Applying technology to enable health care organizations to achieve their strategic goals and meet the needs of the people they serve has always been my passion,” said Purushothaman.  “I am excited to contribute to Satellite Healthcare’s innovative culture, through which it delivers optimum care to its patients using leading edge technology.”

“Satellite Healthcare is focused on designing and applying transformational value-based care models, CKD population health management and other innovative home care models with CVS, our partner in kidney health.  Applying what we’ve learned in research and clinical protocols from caring for dialysis patients for nearly 50 years was the key aspect of our search for a CIO who can successfully align technology with this priority,” said Jeff Goffman, Satellite Healthcare CEO. “Bindu will bring that ability and so much more to the company.  Her vision, technological expertise and collaborative leadership style will positively impact all levels of the organization and every patient we serve.”

Prior to her roles within Optum Care, Purushothaman held IT leadership positions at Ardent Health Services and IBS Software Services.  She holds an MS degree in Computer Science from Ohio University, and a Bachelor of Technology degree from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum in India. She will report to Satellite Healthcare CEO Jeff Goffman.
