Satellite Healthcare’s Chief Information Officer Bindu Purushothaman joined Satellite in December 2021. She began her career as a software engineer, but was open to opportunities. “Like many, I did not start this journey knowing exactly what I wanted. I continued and kept exploring what I enjoyed. Loving what I do with a practical mindset kept the momentum going.”
Bindu had the misfortune to be involved in a serious car accident while in her twenties. “I was bed ridden for six months, and it changed my whole outlook on life. The compassion and the care I received during this very difficult time inspired me give back. The purpose, mission and team here at Satellite motivates me to give my all to serve others.”
Albuquerque, New Mexico is home for Bindu and her family, including two teenage sons. She was born and raised in Kerala, India, which she enjoys visiting each year to spend time with her parents. Balancing a demanding career with parenting two young kids can be a challenge, but as Bindu put it, “For all the young people out there trying to balance it all, life will get easier.”
Bindu’s advice for success is “to work hard at building and maintaining a strong network of mentors and experts. Networking is essential to your success. Be who you are – authentic and confident – while being compassionate. Invest in yourself personally and professionally. Do what you love, work hard and enjoy life. If you want to be a technology professional, accept the fact that change is the only constant. And, for those who aspire to be in leadership, surround yourself with a great team. Their success is your success.”
