Impressive advances have been made in the treatment of Hepatitis C since 2011 which have now been extended to patients on dialysis. In the attached White Paper we review the diagnosis of Hepatitis C including screening recommendations from the CDC for patients with ESRD, treatment with direct-acting antivirals with attention to drugs that have been studied in patients with advanced renal disease, and the importance of infection control practices in the dialysis center to prevent transmission.
